Magento development

Magento can carry a lot.
On the right server.

We work on Magento 2, Open Source and Adobe Commerce: custom modules and themes, version upgrades and integrations with ERPs and marketplaces. We also look after what runs underneath, because on Magento the server matters as much as the code.

What we do on Magento

From the code
to the server behind it.

  1. 01

    Custom modules.

Pricing logic, customer group price lists, order flows and integrations written as proper Magento modules, with plugins and dependency injection, never touching the core.

    • B2B
  2. 02

    Themes and frontend.

A theme built on your design or improvements to the one you have, on Luma or on Hyvä when you need a lighter frontend.

  3. 03

    Version upgrades.

Every Magento 2.4 release asks for newer PHP, OpenSearch and libraries, and security patches keep coming. We upgrade on a copy, check modules and extensions, then go live.

  4. 04

    Integrations.

ERPs, warehouses, couriers and marketplaces connected through Magento’s REST and GraphQL APIs, with message queues when volumes are high.

  5. 05

    Servers and infrastructure.

Magento wants Redis, OpenSearch, Varnish and a properly sized server. We set it up and look after it, with a test environment and automated deploys.

Stay on Magento?

Magento is powerful.
You may not need it.

Magento 1 has had no security updates since 2020, and a Magento 2 left alone for years needs catching up too. It’s the right moment to ask whether it’s still the platform for you.

Staying makes sense if

  • Your catalogue is large, with many attributes and variants
  • You have different price lists and terms per customer group
  • You run several stores, languages and currencies from one admin
  • Someone looks after servers and updates, or you leave it to us

Consider something else if

  • The catalogue grew less than expected
  • Servers and maintenance eat into your margins
  • Nobody keeps up with updates and patches
  • Shopware, Shopify or WooCommerce already cover what you need
Speed and servers

Slow Magento?
It’s often not Magento’s fault.

  1. 01

    Full page cache.

Well-configured Varnish and Redis serve catalogue pages without redoing all the work every time.

  2. 02

    Indexers and cron.

Scheduled indexing and cron jobs that actually run: prices and stock stay current without locking up the store.

  3. 03

    Extensions.

We remove or replace the ones that weigh on every page, and check the database queries that slow things down.

FAQ

What we often get asked
about Magento.

How much does a Magento store cost?

Usually more than an online shop on other platforms, because a Magento project comes with large catalogues, integrations and dedicated infrastructure. The price always depends on the project’s specs: after an analysis we send you a written quote with scope, timing and price.

Is Magento still worth choosing?

For large catalogues, B2B and several stores from one admin, yes. For a small or mid-sized shop it’s often too much: it costs more in servers and maintenance than it gives back. We’ll tell you once we’ve seen your numbers and processes.

Can you upgrade my Magento 2 to the latest version?

Yes. We make a copy, upgrade Magento, PHP and related services, check every extension and custom module, and only go live after testing orders and payments.

Can I move from Magento to Shopware or Shopify?

Yes. We move products, customers and order history and redirect the old URLs. First, though, we go through what has to be rebuilt with you, such as B2B rules or customisations. More on the ecommerce migration page.

Do you support Magento stores built by others?

Yes. We start by reviewing code, extensions and server, then work through an hours bundle or a maintenance plan.

Where does a Magento store you look after run?

On our servers or on your infrastructure. Either way we set up a separate test environment, automated off-server backups and monitoring with alerts.
