Privacy and cookies
Ortica is the brand under which two independent professionals work together. This page explains what data the ortica.io website collects, why, for how long and how you can ask us to delete it.
Who handles your data
Your data is handled by Riccardo Bano (Via Agno 15 D, 35135 Padova, Italy, VAT IT04864990280) and Davide Trevisan (Via Marco Polo 49 C int. 1, 35010 San Giorgio delle Pertiche PD, Italy, VAT IT05298430280), joint controllers under Article 26 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
They have signed an agreement that sets out who does what: Riccardo Bano looks after this notice and the deletion of expired data, and both answer requests. For any question or request the single point of contact is ciao@ortica.io, but you can also contact either of them.
What data we collect and why
Requests from the "Let's talk" form and by email
When you write to us we collect your name, email, company, phone number if you give it, your answers about the project and your message. We use them only to reply and to prepare a quote: this is necessary for pre-contractual steps you asked for (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Without a name and email we cannot reply.
We do not use this data for newsletters or advertising and we do not pass it on to anyone.
Visit statistics
To understand which pages are read and how many people get in touch, we use Vercel Web Analytics and Umami. Neither uses cookies or records data that identifies you: they count visits and a few actions, such as opening the "Let's talk" form or clicking our email address, in aggregate, anonymous form. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
Technical data
The server hosting the site logs technical request data (such as the IP address) to run it and protect it from abuse. It is deleted automatically after a few days.
How long we keep it
Requests and emails are kept for 24 months after the last contact, then deleted. If you become a client, the data needed for the work and for invoicing is kept for as long as the law requires.
Who else sees it
The data is stored by providers that process it on our behalf, under GDPR-compliant contracts (Art. 28):
- Vercel Inc.: hosts the site and the statistics, servers in Frankfurt
- Umami Software Inc.: visit statistics, without cookies
- Neon Inc.: database of requests, servers in Frankfurt
- Resend Inc.: sends us the notification email for each request, servers in Ireland
- Google LLC: ortica.io mailboxes
Vercel, Neon, Resend, Umami and Google are US companies: any transfer of data to the United States is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
The site uses no profiling or third-party cookies, and the statistics work without cookies: that is why there is no banner. The only cookie is a technical one, and only for those who log in to the private area to edit the site.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to its processing or receive it in a readable format (Art. 15-22 GDPR). Write to ciao@ortica.io: we reply within one month.
If you think your data is being handled improperly you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Changes
If we change how we handle data we update this page. Last updated: 17 October 2026.
