Website speed and Core Web Vitals

Is your site slow?
We’ll find out why.

A slow site loses visits, sales and Google rankings. We do website speed optimisation starting from measurements: Core Web Vitals, code, images, cache and servers. Then we fix what really weighs it down.

  • Lighthouse
  • Cloudflare
  • NGINX
What we measure

Three numbers
Google looks at.

Core Web Vitals measure what visitors actually experience. Google also uses them for ranking.

  1. 01

    LCP.

How long the main content takes to appear, usually the big image or the headline. If it arrives late, the page feels slow even when it isn’t entirely.

    • Loading
  2. 02

    INP.

How quickly the page responds when you tap a button or open a menu. Too much JavaScript makes it slow to react, especially on phones.

    • Responsiveness
  3. 03

    CLS.

How much the page shifts while loading. The button that jumps away just as you tap it is a high CLS.

    • Stability

Where we work

From the browser
to the database.

Slowness rarely has a single cause. We look at the whole chain, from the image to the server.

  1. 01

    Images and fonts.

Modern formats, the right size for every screen, loaded only when needed. Fonts loaded without blocking the page.

    • WebP
    • AVIF
    • Lazy loading
  2. 02

    JavaScript and CSS.

Unused scripts removed, the necessary ones loaded later. Fewer plugins adding code to every page.

    • JavaScript
    • CSS
  3. 03

    Cache and CDN.

Pages and files served ready-made, from a server close to the visitor. Cache rules designed not to show stale content.

    • Cache
    • CDN
  4. 04

    Database and queries.

Bloated tables, slow queries, searches that freeze everything. On shops with many products, this is often where the problem hides.

    • MySQL
    • Queries
  5. 05

    Servers and traffic peaks.

Adequate resources, recent PHP or Node versions, configuration designed for busy moments like sales and campaigns.

    • Scalability
How we work

Numbers first.
Then changes.

We don’t apply random recipes. We measure, work where it matters and measure again.

FAQ

Questions about
speed.

Why is my website slow?

The most common causes are heavy images, too many plugins or scripts, undersized hosting and no caching. Often it’s several at once: that’s why we start from a measurement, not a recipe.

Does speed affect Google rankings?

Yes. Core Web Vitals are among the signals Google considers, and a slow page also loses visitors before it even loads. Being fast alone won’t lift you, but being slow holds you back.

What are Core Web Vitals?

Three measures of the visitor experience: LCP (how long the main content takes), INP (how quickly it responds to taps) and CLS (how much the page shifts while loading).

How much does website speed optimisation cost?

It depends mainly on how many pages and problems there are. After the analysis we send you the list of fixes with a price for each, tests before and after included.

Do I need a new site to make it fast?

Almost never. Images, cache, scripts and servers already make a big difference. Rebuilding only makes sense when the theme or structure is the problem, and if so we’ll tell you plainly.

Do I need a score of 100 on PageSpeed?

No. What matters is that the site is fast for real users, on phones and ordinary connections. We aim for “good” Core Web Vitals, not the perfect number.

Do you optimise ecommerce sites too?

Yes, and that’s where it shows most: catalogue, search, filters and cart are often slowed by queries and plugins. On a shop, every second saved counts.

How do you improve the Core Web Vitals of a WordPress site?

We start from the pages that bring in customers, measuring LCP, INP and CLS with real user data. On WordPress the culprits are usually few: oversized images, plugins loading scripts on every page, a page builder, no caching or slow hosting. We work on those, one at a time, and measure before and after. We don’t promise a score: we aim for “good” values on the pages that matter.

Why is my WordPress site slow?

Almost always it’s several things adding up: too many plugins, a heavy theme or page builder, images loaded at full resolution, a bloated database, an old PHP version or shared hosting at its limit. An analysis tells us what really weighs it down, and you get the list of fixes, each with its price.
