Website and ecommerce maintenance
A live site is alive.
Someone has to look after it.
We take care of website and ecommerce maintenance: controlled updates, backups, security and fixes when needed. Even on sites we didn’t build.
- 200+
- sites we look after, many on behalf of agencies
- 2 people
- the person who answers does the work
Fewer surprises.
More time for everything else.
Maintenance isn’t hitting “update” now and then. It’s knowing what changes, testing it first and always having a way back.
- 01
Updates tested first.
Core, themes, plugins and modules are updated on a copy of the site first, on staging. If something breaks, it breaks there. Only what works reaches the live site.
- 02
Backups you can actually use.
Regular backups of files and database, stored away from the site’s server. And now and then we actually restore them, because an untested backup is just a hope.
- 03
Security and monitoring.
We check that the site responds, the certificate is valid and there are no suspicious logins or files. If something’s wrong, the alert comes to us.
- 04
Fixes and improvements.
A new page, a form that stopped working, an integration to add. Requests go through the client area, where you can also follow the work.
- 05
Managed hosting, if needed.
We can host the site on our servers, with up-to-date specs, and look after those too. One point of contact, from the code to the machine.
What we work with
We didn’t build it?
No problem.
We often take over sites built by others. But before promising anything, we look at how they’re made.
The initial review
- Core, theme and plugin versions
- Custom code and direct edits
- Server, PHP and database
- Existing backups and access
What we tell you next
- What needs fixing now
- What’s worth keeping
- What’s worth rebuilding, and why
- How we keep it running from there
No leaps in the dark
We only run the first update once we understand the site.
Talk to who does the work
No call centre: the person working on the site answers.
For agencies too
We maintain agencies’ client sites under white label.
Two options.
Pick the one you need.
For sites and shops that need ongoing care, or for those who need help every now and then.
- 01
Yearly plan.
Updates, backups, security and monitoring all year round, with hosting if you want it. The price depends on the site: a brochure site isn’t a shop with thousands of products.
- 02
Hours bundle.
Prepaid hours to use for changes, small developments and fixes. Every request is tracked in the client area, with no quote for each job.
Looking after your clients’ sites as an agency? Maintenance can be white label too, under your name: see how we work with agencies.
The platforms
we look after.
- 01
WordPress and WooCommerce.
The most common case: company sites, blogs, shops. We have a page dedicated to WordPress maintenance.
- 02
PrestaShop.
Version upgrades, modules, themes and PHP compatibility. On PrestaShop stores, updates need careful planning.
- 03
Shopify.
No servers to manage, but the theme, apps and integrations still need keeping in order.
- 04
Magento and Shopware.
More complex stores, where updates and extensions need proper testing before going live.
- 05
Custom sites and web apps.
Next.js, Node, Payload CMS and projects built from scratch: dependencies kept current, deploys and servers.
What people ask us
about maintenance.
Why does a website need maintenance?
Because everything underneath it changes: PHP versions, plugins, browsers, security rules. A site left alone gets slower, more vulnerable and harder to update. Sooner or later something breaks, usually at the worst moment.
Do you maintain sites built by others?
Yes, it happens a lot. We first review code, plugins and server, then tell you what needs fixing and what’s worth keeping. Only then do we start updating.
How do you update without breaking the site?
We test updates on a copy first, on staging. We check the main pages, the forms and, for shops, the checkout. They only reach the live site once they work, with a fresh backup ready.
How much does website maintenance cost?
It depends on the site and on what you need: how many plugins or modules it runs, how much traffic it gets, what guarantees you want. A brochure site costs less than an online shop, and high-traffic or enterprise sites cost more. After a first review we send you a quote for a yearly plan or an hours bundle.
Do I need to change hosting?
Not necessarily. We can work on your current hosting if it’s up to the job. If it isn’t, we explain why and can host the site on our servers.
Do you offer white label maintenance for agencies?
Yes. We look after agencies’ client sites under their name, without contacting the end client. Details are on the agencies page.
More ways
to keep it in shape.
- 01WordPress maintenanceCore, themes and plugins updated on staging, off-site backups, security and support for WordPress and WooCommerce sites.
- 02Speed and performanceSlow sites, Core Web Vitals in the red, shops that can’t handle peaks: we find the bottlenecks and fix them.
- 03Servers and DevOpsLinux servers set up and managed, hosting, automated deploys, staging, monitoring and migrations without taking the site down.
