The code you don’t see.
And the servers that run it.
I’m Davide Trevisan, the other half of Ortica. I look after backend and infrastructure: APIs and integrations with management systems and CRMs, Node.js and Payload CMS, servers, releases and backups. I work from Arsego, in the province of Padua.

What you don’t see.
But has to work.
- 01
Backend and APIs.
Node.js, Payload CMS and databases, connected to ERPs, CRMs and management systems. We explain it on the page about Node.js development.
- 02
Servers and DevOps.
Servers set up and looked after by us, automatic releases, off-server backups with tested restores. You’ll find the details under servers and DevOps.
- 03
Web apps and management tools.
The part you don’t see of management tools, client portals and subscription products. We cover it on the page about custom software and web apps.
What I write about.
Code, servers, technical choices.

4 min readUpgrading to PrestaShop 9: what changes and what drives the costPrestaShop 9 changes the technical foundations: Symfony 6.4, PHP 8.1 or later, new APIs. The shop won’t get better on its own, but staying on 1.7 means modules and servers that get harder and harder to keep going.

4 min readPayload CMS: what it is and when to choose it over WordPressPayload is an open-source CMS written in TypeScript that lives inside a Next.js app. It pays off when content has a precise structure and the site has to grow like software; for a simple site WordPress is still a good choice.
